Nita Ambani  is an Indian business women, social worker  and  the wife of industrialist Mukesh Ambani. She is the Founder-Chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Nita  is also the Co-Owner of the Mumbai Indians cricket team .She is actively involved in Project Drishti: A social initiative taken by Reliance Industries(RIL) and National Association for the Blind.

Early life & education

Nita Ambani was born on 1st Nov, 1963 in Mumbai in a middle class family to to Ravindrabhai Dalal and Purnima Dalal. Her parents used to stay at Santacruz. Her father was a senior executive in Birla and mother was a homemaker. Her grandfather was a French professor in Kolkata. They were two sisters. She grew up in a arge suburban house in Mumbai and she lived in a joint family with many cousins, uncles, aunts and grandmother.She got married to Mukesh Ambani, the Managing Director of Reliance Industries while she was in her 20s. The couple has three kids Anant Ambani, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani. Isha is studying in Yale University USA.

She is a Commerce Graduate from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, Vile Parle, Mumbai University.She has a great interest in dancing. Even she wanted to be a dancer.Nita is a qualified dancer and an interior designer.Nita Ambani practises her classical dance everyday and her husband Mukesh can’t resist watching her dance! Her mother was a also a good dancer of Gujrati dance. She started dance when she was five year old. In fact dance is the main reason behind her marriege. She was spotted by Dhirubhai Ambani (Mukesh’s father) in a Gujrati dance festival. Dhirubhai called her family and arranged the marriege.

Business and social works

Nita Ambani is the Chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School which was established in June 2003. The school runs on the lines of world class institutions and employs the best curriculum that aims to provide excellent and highly competitive education at the school level. The Dhirubhai Ambani International School is located in Mumbai and is one of the very few schools in India which offer the International Baccalaureate Program. Nita Ambani also spearheads the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation, a non-profit organization which mainly aims at helping the under privileged lot an equal place in the society and in the corporate world. The foundation also works for the betterment of the educational and health facilities for the underprivileged in India.

Nita Ambani has received numerous honors including a place in the 2016 edition of both the most influential women business leaders in Asia list by Forbes and the fifty high and mighty Indians list by India Today. She is the first indian woman to become member of IOC(International Olympic Committee).The Metropolitan Museum for Art, New York has felicitated Nita Ambani for her philanthropic efforts.
