Rekha Bhardwaj
Rekha Bhardwaj is an Indian playback singer and musician. Rekha is known in the industry for her distinctive singing style. She is the wife of a famous director, producer and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj.

Rekha took the formal training of music at Gandharva Mahavidyala under Shri Vasant Thakar, Pandit Vinay Chandra Mudgal and Shri Madhup Mudgal. Later she met her guru Pt. Amarnath who trained her in specialized gharana singing. Rekha considers Lata Mangeshkar her idol.

Rekha released her first album “Ishqa Ishqa” in 2004 which lyrics were written by Gulzar and music was composed by Vishal. This album got huge critical acclaim. But she got her big name by the famous song “Namak Issq Ka”( Omkara). This song was also written by Gulzar and composed by her husband, Vishal Bhardwaj. The song was filmed on Bipasha Basu. Her next success came with the song “Sasural Genda Phool..” from Delhi 6 (2009). That song was one of the biggest hit of the year. Her song “Darling” from the movie ” 7 Khoon Maaf” was also on top in 2011’s musical charts.
